Why should you clean them:

• Light switches are common grounds for germs. The flip is switched on and off throughout the day and night by multiple people using it. Even if you live alone in your home, you are still contracting germs from other areas.

How to clean them safely:

• Locate the electric box in your home or business properties and turn off the circuit breaker or fuse before cleaning it. This will prevent electrocution and other potential risks.
• Never spray liquid cleaning products directly on your light switch. If the liquid cleaner entered the switch plate, there would be a major safety risk.
• Ensure first if your electricity is turned off.
• Remove the light switch plate from the wall using a screwdriver. Clean it with soap and warm water.
• Dry it thoroughly and screw back on the wall, then turn the electric box back on.

Outlet Covers

Why should you clean them:

• The same reason for the light switch covers. They get attracted to germs easily.
• The color of the cover can also change over time as the surface collects dust.

How to clean them safely:

• Make sure to turn the power off to prevent hazards and for your safety.
• Remove the power plate cover. Wiped down with warm water and soap.
• Spray a dust or dirt removal liquid cleaner using a cotton swab and carefully wipe away the dirt on the power outlet.
• If the cover looks too discolored, it is time to replace them!
• Put the cover back on the wall and turn the power back on.
